Summary: Glaucoma in children may lead to irreversible optic nerve damage and visual impairment. Currently there is no efficient method of intraocular pressure reduction in those patients. However, the surgical treatment is a treatment of choice in congenital glaucoma. Introduction of endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation enabled the treatment in patients with corneal opacities and atypical anathomy of ciliary body. This method may be used in case of uneffectiveness of other surgical techniques, and it does not limitate the choice of next procedure. In this paper actual statement of endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation usage in childhood glaucoma was presented. Moreover, the results, possible complications of this method and difficulties in glaucoma treatment in children based on the literature were described. Comparing with adults, lower percentage of intraocular pressure reduction in children, shorter efficiency time and higher percentage of complications in this group of patients are described in the literature. Endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation does not lead to the reduction in topical drugs number in children.
