Summary: Purpose: To present macular hole and age-related macular degeneration (AMD) comorbidity.
Material and Methods: Patients with macular hole accompanied by neovascular or advanced dry AMD were described. Fundus photography, fluorescein angiography and optical coherence tomography (OCT) were implemented.
Results: Macular hole was easily diagnosed with OCT, although it was not distinguishable on fundus image or fluorescein angiography.
Conclusions: OCT is a device of choice when diagnosing macular hole in patients with AMD. Macular hole can complicate AMD without further BCVA worsening or even can remain unnoticeable for both a patient and a physician.
