Summary: Pars plana vitrectomy is (from 1971) a surgical procedure used in retinal and vitreous diseases treatment. Currently we observe unusually quick development of this refined and modernized treatment method, that find more and more uses. Our work emphasizes on particularly difficult group of indications for vitrectomy – retinal and vitreous diseases in highly myopic eyes.
