Summary: Lensectomy is a known and used method of surgical treatment in subluxated lenses in children. The method is safe and bears a small complications risk. In the presented study a statistically significant improvement in vision acuity for distance was observed; in the best correction it was mean 0.3 (0.06–0.80) in group I and mean 0.7 (0.2–1.0) in group II. The corrected visual acuity for near in group I was mean 0.9 D and in group II mean 0.75 D, respectively. The results indicate that children in group II had better visual acuity for distance and for near after a longer period from the surgery. In the presented study the mean initial refraction of the optical system of eyeballs in group I was +15.27 D (±6.27) in spherical equivalent, and the median +2.12 D cylind (-0.25 ÷ +3.25) in cylindrical analysis.The mean end refraction of the optical system in group I was +11.27 D (±5.51) in spherical equivalent, and a median +3.00 D cylinder (+2.12 ÷ +3.12) in cylindrical analysis. The mean initial refraction of the optical system of eyeballs in group II was +5.25 D (±11.19) in spherical equivalent, and a median +1.31 D cylinder. Hypermetropia +11.00 D (±3.77) was also observed in spherical equivalent and in cylindrical analysis +1.0 D cylinder (+0.75 ÷ +1.25). The mean initial refraction of the optical system of eyeballs in control group III was -4.58 D (±6.06) in spherical equivalent, and a median +2.75 D cylinder (-1.25 ÷ +3.0) in cylindrical analysis. The mean end refraction of the optical system -4.04 D (±6.20) in spherical equivalent, and a median -3.25 D cylinder (-7.0 ÷ -2.25) in cylindrical analysis.
