Viral Conjunctivitis in the Department of Neonatology Pomeranian Medical University of Szczecin

Summary: The aim of the study was the analysis of the endemic viral conjunctivitis in patients as well as employees of the Department of Neonatology Pomeranian Medical University of Szczecin. From January to August 2008; 12 newborn, 13 nurses and 3 mothers of hospitalized children suffered from adenoviral acute conjunctivitis. 2 months after the end of the endemic viral conjunctivitis occurred also in 3 medical doctors involved in treatment of patients mentioned above. Follow up this event the Intensive Care Unit has been closed during 1 month.
