Summary: The purpose of the paper is to present own experience with OMS – 800 OFFISS microscope (Optical Fiber – free Illumination Surgery System). We discuss system elements and their practical usefulness. We present own modification, which enables OFFISS use concomitantly with BIOM. The described system allowed us performing bimanual vitrectomy without using intraocular illumination. It was also possible to perform the procedure in two options: with OFFISS system and flat contact lens using horizontal slit illumination. Presented system is important surgical possibilities extension in vitreous surgery.
