Summary: The purpose of the study was to compare the findings of confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (HRT) and GDx Nerve Fiber Analyzer in eyes with ocular hypertension. Twenty two patients with ocular hypertension were included in the study. All patients had IOP between 21-28 mmHg, open angles in gonioscopy examination and no visual field defects in automated perimetry. The HRT and GDx-NFA imaging were completed from 1 eye from each subject in a 3-months interval. GDx results (TSINT Average, Superior Average and Interior Average) were correlated with HRT nerve head topographic measurements (DA, RA, RV, mean RNFL thickness) in whole disc area, superior and inferior pole. The number in GDx advanced analysis had a significant (p < 0.05) correlation with rim area, rim volume and mean RNFL thickness. The greatest significance was found for TSNIT Average and RV (p<0.001, r=0.745). The correlation between HRT stereometric parameters and GDx advanced analysis parameters was more significant for parameters targeting the superior pole of the disc than the inferior pole.
