Summary: The study analyses clinically diagnosed cases of postoperative malignant glaucoma following intrabulbar surgical procedures. The authors made retrospective review of the cases of patients hospitalized in the period of time from 2000 to 2005 in the Department of Ophthalmology Medical University of Warsaw. The patient?s age, gender, visual acuity before the surgery and the time of malignant glaucoma onset were analyzed. The authors demonstrate the effective management of this severe complication through 10 documented cases of malignant glaucoma including diagnostics and results of pharmacological and surgical treatment. Although malignant glaucoma treatment is complex, the best results were achieved in cases when malignant glaucoma was diagnosed early and treatment was started immediately.
