According to the direction of the eye movement we may distinguish horizontal, vertical or rotational nystagmus. Congenital nystagmus occurs in 1:6550 new born children. It's more frequently observed in boys. It typically appears just after labor or during early period of childhood. In the majority of patients visual acuity is significantly decreased. The aim of the treatment is visual acuity improvement, decrease in compensatory head position and decrease in nystagmic movements.
