The Influence of Topically Applied Latanoprost on Central Corneal Thickness of Primary Open-angle Glaucoma Patients

Summary: Purpose: Assessment of influence of topically used latanoprost eyedrops on central corneal thickness of primary open-angle glaucoma patients.
Material and Methods: In this observational study 37 patients (21 women and 16 men) with primary open-angle glaucoma started using topically latanoprost for 180 days period. Central corneal thickness measurement was performed in all patients at baseline and at 180th day of study.
Results: The average central corneal thickness was 548 ± 16 µm at baseline and 546 ±17 µm after six months of the treatment.
Conclusions:Studied latanoprost eyedrops lower mean central corneal thickness in the evaluated group of primary open-angle glaucoma patients.
