Summary: Benign and malignant tumors of the eyelids are quite common. Tumors of the eyelids are an average of 42–46.8% of all cancers of the eye and its protective structures. Almost 80% of tumors are benign. The most common malignant tumor of the eyelids is basal cell carcinoma, which constitutes 90–95% of malignant lesions of this region. Also common is squamous cell carcinoma (5%), glandular and adnexal tumors and others. Usually the surgical treatment is required. All lesions should be verified histologically. The decision on further treatment depends on the result of the histopathological examination.
