Summary: Mitomycin C is a widely used drug in medicine and for the last years in Ophthalmology as well. Mitomycin C inhibits cell proliferation in a dose-dependent manner. This feature makes it useful as adjuvant therapy before, after or during surgical treatment. Because of its potential toxicity, Mitomycin C should be used with a great notice, in carefully selected cases.
