Summary: Subject: Evaluation of antimetabolites efficacy after cataract and glaucoma surgery. Object: Comparison of IOP decrease effectiveness after: trabeculectomy, MMC trabeculectomy, phacotrabeculectomy, MMC phacotrabeculectomy. Materials and method: Patients, who underwent the following surgeries were retrospectively compared with reflection to pre- and post- operative IOP, the number of antiglaucoma medication and final, stable IOP at the baseline and after 6 months of the follow-up. Enrollment and observation: 01.2005 till 05.2006. Results: The highest IOP decrease was noticed in the group of MMC trabeculectomy (despite the highest baseline IOP), followed by MMC phacotrabeculectomy, trabeculectomy and phacotrabeculectomy. Conclusion: MMC application is the most effective and durable way in IOP decreasing, and IOL implantation causes smaller IOP decrease.
